About Us
Beverly Shimada decided to turn her passion for fine wine into an establishment in the Fall of 2002. You can often find Bev or any one of her three daughters at the wine shop as it is a family-owned and ran business. If you’re lucky, you might even get her eclectic granddaughter, Ryan, who is more than happy to share her thoughts on fashion, animals and the latest pop artist.
In 2006, Seattle Magazine named the Sixth Avenue Wine Seller “The Most Women Friendly Wine Shop”- a feat for a small business in an industry mostly dominated by males. The Sixth Avenue Wine Seller has also been featured in Sunset Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle among other publications.
